Be inspired and inspire
Climbing Kilimanjaro is assured to be an inspirational and rewarding experience. Undertaking this challenge for a cause like supporting the children in Palestine and Syria will simply make it a priceless journey!
Who are we? Why do we do this?
This is a trip organized by volunteers of the PCRF. We love taking on challenges and exploring the world. With the exciting story of climbing Kilimanjaro, we want to spread awareness about PCRF’s initiatives, support its work through fundraising and contribute to helping injured and affected children in Palestine and the region.
What is PCRF?
The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund is a non-political, non-profit, tax-exempt organization that was established in 1991 to address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youth in the Middle East. It has since expanded to help suffering children from the region, based only on their medical needs. PCRF is dedicated to healing the wounds of war, occupation and poverty for children regardless of their nationality, religion, race or gender. The primary objective of the PCRF is to identify and treat every child in the Middle East in need of specialized surgery not available to them locally.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres or 19,341 feet above sea level. The highest point is known as Uhuru or Kibo Peak. This fact makes Mount Kilimanjaro one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and part of the 7 summits challenge; the feat of climbing the highest mountain on every continent. While ascending Kilimanjaro you’ll be mesmerized by the biodiversity encountered and natural scenery you’ll witness. Kilimanjaro has five distinct climate zones each occupying a range of approximately 1000m of altitude. This will be an extraordinary journey, it is “in some way like traveling from the equator to the pole, with increasing altitude providing a very distinct range of climate zones, from tropical rainforest to moorland, alpine desert and finally to the polar conditions of the summit.” Kilimanjaro is also known as every man’s mountain because it requires no previous hiking or climbing experience to do it.
